The Killer Queen Experience

Formed in 2003, The Killer Queen Experience has risen from a local Brisbane-based Queen Cover-band to an international touring show and is Australia’s most sought-after tribute act today. Meeting Queen in 2020 is the highlight of their career! Killer Queen has taken their show across the globe, including the UK, Norway, Singapore and India. In May 2019, Killer Queen performed in Russia for the first time. They have also shared the bill with the likes of Jeff Beck, Foreigner, Journey, Twisted Sister, Thin Lizzy and Kelly Rowland. John Blunt’s (lead singer) resemblance to Freddie Mercury is uncanny, appearing live to 7 million viewers on the French TV show “Qui Sera Le Meilleur Sosie? - Who will be the best impersonator” and John was chosen by UK’s ITV Channel 5 for the docu/drama “The Freddie Mercury Story – Who Wants to Live Forever”, a detailed look into the personal life and death of Freddie Mercury, screening in the UK, Europe and North America in 2016. This two-hour live show consists of all Queen's Greatest Hits (and stage costumes), including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, Somebody to Love, Radio Ga Ga, Another One Bites the Dust and many more. Bongo Starkie's Skyhooks Show

Bob ‘Bongo’ Starkie, guitarist with one of Australia’s most loved bands – Skyhooks. They lit up the 1970s with their catchy tunes and outrageous costumes. Bongo is keeping the Skyhooks’ music alive when he performs with his Skyhooks show live at The Clovercrest Hotel. Featuring the powerful voice of Sasha Theunissen on lead vocals. The Skyhooks were incredibly influential on Australian music, their album Living in the 70’s released in 1974 is rightly regarded as an Australian classic, being added to the National Film and Sound archive to showcase the very best in Australian culture. Bob was inducted alongside his bandmates into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 1992, cementing Skyhooks’ legacy as one of Australia’s finest acts ever. Skyhooks formed in Melbourne, March 1973, acquiring their flamboyant lead singer Graeme “Shirley” Strachan a year later, the band would end up touring and recording for nearly 30 years. Racking up number 1 hits like: Ego Is Not A Dirty Word, Horror Movie, Living In The 70s, Women In Uniform and Jukebox In Siberia. Skyhooks also dominated the radio waves with fan favourites: You Just Like Me ‘Cos I’m Good in Bed, All My Friends Are Getting Married, Million Dollar Riff & Balwyn Calling. Now, as a celebration of Skyhooks’ legacy, founding member & guitarist Bob “Bongo” Starkie has put together a new band with the intention of keeping the group’s music alive.
